Design Goal: Extended Tools Bar
On WebEx app In-Meeting screen, there is a tool bar on the top right coner. This tool bar used to hold 3 icons, and in some cases it would go up to 4 which is really awkful. Later, to capture up with the functions and features already provided on desktop, we need to figure a way to handle more tools.
Concept Sketch 1: Layer
One of the options I considered is a full-page layer allows this user to be focused on the current task - selecting a tool.
Concept Sketch 2: Panel
Another option I considered is a panel which allows users multi-tasking (sort of). The panel only covers half the content so that this user can keep an eye on what's going on in the meeting while selecting a tool.
Wireframe: Panel
After reviews, the team decided to go with "Panel". Based on the feedback from user testing and customers, users appreciate that they could keep tracking what is going on in the meeting while they are doing other things in or out of the meeting.
